Trade Store

On a Friday morning in the suburbs of Somerset West is a ‘Word of Mouth’ gathering where those in the know are busy with the gentle art of trading over great Cappuccinos’ and for the brave at heart ….A soupcon of Grappa.

This informal get together of like -minded people trade produce of all sorts with the emphasis being on fresh and home grown..We are constantly amazed at the amount of fruit and vegetables being grown behind suburban walls. Avos, Figs, Lemons, Oranges, Tamarillos, Asparagus, and off course, all the good old standard vegetables.

When you trade or swap produce you  ‘Get it for free at half the price”

Florentines, Lemon tarts and Open Rye sandwiches are on offer ,seldom is anything over R10.00. That includes the organic Macchiato’s and Cappuccinos.

A good selection of Tea is always for free!!

Bread from Die Oude Bank Bakkerij is supplied on Fridays. Contact me for any large orders- thegravelgarden@telkomsa.net

We would love to hear if you are growing organically and have any surplus to trade

Please note that you don’t have to trade and are most welcome to join us for the morning market when the gardens are open for a stroll and to learn how to plant and save your own Heirloom seed

Yours in gardening, Shannon
